We invite you to join Intel's Next Generation & Standards (NGS) group and the wireless connectivity team! We are a global team of passionate engineers and technologists from diverse backgrounds, working together to realize a world of connected computing. The NGS team is chartered with developing various wireless technologies to deliver innovative and state of the art experiences that feed into Intels world-class wireless connectivity technologies and products. NGS has a solid track record of driving key innovations in wireless communication systems including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 5G.

In this position you will help to play a key role in shaping the future of Bluetooth technology and related products by closely collaborating with internal and external partners.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Representing NGS and product teams in the Bluetooth SIG in the areas of Bluetooth Low Energy audio, BR/EDR audio, and other critical technology areas.

  • Educating and coordinating with product teams for the latest developments within the Bluetooth SIG to enable Intel to produce world class Bluetooth products.

  • Contributing to or leading development of a variety of Bluetooth standards.

  • Defining requirements for Bluetooth-related standards while considering performance/cost/power tradeoffs and other aspects of Intel products.

  • Working closely with Bluetooth firmware, driver, and host stack design teams relating to developing standards.

  • Communicating with Bluetooth ecosystem partners and customers.

  • Evaluating link level and system level performance of proposed standards through simulation.

  • Evaluating and providing feedback on concepts proposed by others.

  • Expanding expertise in the Bluetooth specifications and Bluetooth standards development.

  • Contributing to development and execution of internal standards strategy.

  • Traveling internationally for Face-to-Face meetings to countries such as within Europe and Asia.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years or Master's degree with 4+ years or PHD with 2+ years in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering.

  • 3+ years of experience with:

    • Bluetooth Core or Bluetooth audio specifications.

    • Standards development in the Bluetooth SIG or other standards bodies.

Preferred additional qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Standards development.

  • 3+ years of experience working within the Bluetooth SIG.

  • Past leadership experience in a standards organization.

  • Experience in Bluetooth qualification program.

  • Knowledge of PHY and MAC of cellular and other standards.

Inside this Business Group

The Corporate Strategy Office is chartered to support the executive office in driving corporate initiatives, including near and long-term strategy, major cross-group decision making and ensuring cross-company alignment.  To deliver to that mission, the team owns shaping, driving and synthesizing insights to directionally orient trends as well as long range strategic planning/visioning , cross company alignment and greenfield innovation.  Communications are essential to drive alignment so there is a focus on communications, community and acumen development.  The team is ccommitted to ensuring that Intel efforts are aligned to, and actively driving success toward the most impactful business strategies.
