Apple is at the forefront of creating a wireless power eco-system for consumer electronic devices. Creating a seamless user experience for wireless charging entails a fairly complex system spanning a range of engineering disciplines. It is critical for the on-going success and development of the wireless power system to have clearly organized and documented requirements and specifications.

The selected candidate will be responsible for documenting system and sub-system level requirements based on customer-facing needs, lessons learned from prior product developments and feedbacks. This role requires a technical thinker, stellar at writing technical requirements, and capable of making sure these requirements are well understood by the cross-functional teams.

Key Qualifications

  • Familiarity with systems engineering principles (product life cycle, V model, traceability, etc.).
  • Clear, effective, and concise verbal and written communication and presentations skills.
  • Drive and persistence to seek information and take necessary actions to ensure success.
  • Familiarity with System Engineering Body of Knowledge (SEBoK) and System Modeling Language (SysML) a plus.

Description

Apply knowledge of electrical engineering in hardware, firmware and software fields to document requirements & specifications at sub-systems and system levels.
Continually engage with cross-functional team members to examine the constraints and needs.
Represent requirements in appropriate visual or graphical representations (i.e. graphs, diagram, flowchart, state machines, etc.).
Review, update, and maintain requirements, and verification & validation tests and ensure traceability between requirements, specifications and test results.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or similar technical degree.
Three years experience in writing requirements and verification/validation test routines.
Experience with requirement management software tools such as Jama, Doors (etc.).
