The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum seeks to fill a W3 Professorship in Human-centered Sensing as soon as possible.

It is expected that the candidate is scientifically active in Human-centered Sensing in at least one of the main research areas

   Innovative sensor technology/sensor concepts

   Sensor networks, sensor data fusion

   Multimodal data processing (Preserving privacy)

with connections to other research areas inside the Faculty or University.

Positive evaluation as a junior professor or equivalent academic achievement and evidence of special aptitude are just as much required as the willingness to participate in the self-governing bodies of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum and to generally get involved in university processes according to Ruhr-Universität Bochum’s mission statement.

Furthermore, we expect:

   International visibility through publications and projects as well as willingness and proven ability to attract significant third-party funded research projects;

   readiness to participate in interdisciplinary research, as well as the willingness and ability to lead and participate in large collaborative projects;

   strong commitment to teaching. Teaching assignments include compulsory lectures in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs. It is expected, that the candidate actively participates in selected main study areas of the faculty.
