The LTD Yield Manager is responsible for driving the process yield for developing processes to a world class level. Doing this is one of the most important factors in Intels success.  This is done by leading a complex organization that owns creating strategic yield goals for Intel technologies and driving the LTD organization to deliver to those goals.  This includes developing an organization, tool infrastructure, and methodology to convert volumes of data into a meaningful, executable direction for yield learning.  It additionally requires the ability to lead the yield organization to continually re-evaluate and improve the methodology that is used to drive yield learning.

As the LTD Yield Manager, you will lead a vibrant and inclusive organizational culture, as a manager of technical managers, working in role that require both daily tactical consistency as well as long term strategy definition and roadmap execution.


  • Willingness to share ownership of all LTD goals, in and out the yield organization
  • Safety Create and consistently support safety improvement initiatives in the fab and office areas. Often working on systems to reduce operational hazards and to avoid ergonomic injuries.
  • Strategic Planning Envisioning and articulating strategic plans for what the yield learning infrastructure will look like across multiple process generations and integrating that into meeting the individual yield goals of each of the individual programs. Plans need to consider technology needs, commercial implications, production affordability, and environmental impacts. LTD Area Managers are expected to create, negotiate, and proliferate strategic plans across multiple internal and external groups rather than follow someone elses roadmap.
  • Daily Operations Manufacturing in the D1 factory is one of the largest drivers of yield learning. Willingness to share ownership with the manufacturing/module organization to enable high quality, fast WIP movement is key.
  • Cost Need to manage daily operational costs as well as long term structural costs. Need to watch week spends versus budget and to deliver a process that will be cost-competitive in high volume manufacturing. Projects need to be delivered on time and within budget.
  • Culture Needs to demonstrate organization and emotional intelligence to understand how work is completed, how to remove roadblocks, where human bandwidth is challenged, and quickly react before problems arise. Will be expected to fully support corporate initiative and to develop a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive cultural environment where employees and bring their whole selves and contribute and grow to their maximum potentials.
  • Interactions Need to team with Defect Metrology and Lab tool owners and management to ensure the tool infrastructure exists to drive yield learning
  • Customer focus Need to partner with Module, and Program Managers to deliver the data and analysis that drives process development
  • Must be willing to occasionally work in a clean room environment wearing a gown, hood, booties, safety glasses and gloves.

Experience Required:              

  • 10+ years of experience leading and setting priorities for multiple engineering teams in a large organization
  • 10+ years of experience driving process yield either as a leader in yield analysis or defect metrology, or as a senior integration or module manager who has had specific responsibility for driving parts of yield roadmaps


  • MS degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field. PhD preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry
