The Test Environments & Operations Center is seeking a Senior Facilities Infrastructure Lead for our facility at Vandenberg Air Force Base located in Lompoc California. This person will have reporting responsibilities to Section Head with Test Environments & Operations Department. This position will interface and collaborate with Integrated Product Team Leads, Program Managers, Civil Engineers, Air Force personnel and various stake holders, within multi-disciplined design teams across multiple projects. This position will assist in supporting and managing the implementation of key Engineering Lab Council strategic projects and day-to-day operation requirements within multiple Engineering Labs, with particular focus on compliance and improvement efforts. This position will also work with Air Force Civil Engineering Center in the support of the lab and building on an Air Force installation. Cooperative efforts will include capability areas of energy, environment, facilities engineering, operations and readiness.

Candidate will possess strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Candidate will also have a high situational awareness, strong emotional intelligence and be able to effectively work multiple projects simultaneously with diverse groups and customers.

This job is a multi-level requisition - This position can be a (Sr Facilities Engineer I) or a (Sr Facilities Engineer II), based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Lab Operating Procedure Management; provide direction for lab users on established policies
  • Management, coordination and implementation of Environment Health Safety and Sustainment
  • Property and Metrology Management
  • Perform cost analysis, ensure task completion within approved budgets
  • Provide process support to Supply Chain Management
  • Assessment preparation and support, oversee audits, engineering lab evaluations and Voluntary Protection Program, also assists in the development of long-range objectives, including program goals
  • Responsible for safeguarding of classified/proprietary material, hardware and documentation, utilizing defense material/property under Export Administration Regulations
  • Develop and implement communication plans, providing consulting support to functional and program leadership
  • Manage all site preventative and corrective maintenance
    Perform basic maintenance activities
    Coordinate and in some cases escort outside vendors



    Position requires an active and in-scope (Secret) US security clearance


    Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Requires Bachelors Degree or additional two (2) years of directly related experience may be substituted for each one (1) year of college, plus four (4) years of directly related professional experience for Sr Facilities Engineer I or six (6) years of professional experience for Sr Facilities Engineer II
  • Experience working with Air Force Civil Engineering Center
  • Two (2) years or more experience with EHSS processes including OSHA and SDS requirements
  • Two (2) years or more experience with security compliance with government regulations to include NISPOM/JAFAN standards
  • Two (2) or more years of previous work experience in, contingency engineering, construction or facilities maintenance


    Qualifications We Value:
  • Prefer Top Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance within one (1) year
  • Knowledge of repair management and protection and prevention procedures
  • Familiarity with EHSS and Foreign Object Elimination
  • Ability to work independently or in a collaboratively in a fast paced team environment
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to develop report and build positive relationships with both our internal and external customers
  • Four (4) years of experience working and/or supporting functional management and teams within a professional organization
  • Have a strong breadth of knowledge in regards to maintaining compliance
  • Proven leadership skills, including the willingness to make decisions and embrace change
  • Background in audit/assessment reparation and support services
