Raytheon Missiles & Defense - Precision Manufacturing organization (RPM) encompasses two remote location factories (Lemmon Ave., Dallas, TX and University St., McKinney, TX) that are structured under the Missile and Defense business unit of Raytheon Technologies. RPM manufactures a wide variety of precision machined, plated, and painted parts for various radar, FLIR, Missile, and Communications systems across Raytheon.

Job Summary:

The Value Stream Manager (VSM) is directly responsible for all manufacturing related activities within a production or prototype/development manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess the demonstrated skills and verified experience necessary to perform in manufacturing, technical, and administrative leadership roles.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Report to the Factory Manager and be accountable for the daily management of their manufacturing areas for safety, security, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Define clear operational schedules, priorities, goals, and collaborate with functional management to allow for continuous manufacturing flow of precision machined and finished products.
  • Accountability for production deliveries, daily direction to salary support, and safety within their factory area.
  • Although this is a First Shift opportunity, the manufacturing environment can operate multiple shifts including weekend work. The successful candidate must be capable and willing to work extended hours (when required) in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
  • Coordination of all necessary aspects and resources to successfully complete assigned requirements with full focus on safety, security, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Monitor and report on factory metrics (safety, cost, quality, and OTD).
  • Assign resources to work issues that are negatively impacting performance.
  • Coordinate with Fab Engineering on manufacturing process development activities.
  • Communicate material shortages, performance to MRP and any other issue resulting in an impact to production to Factory and Program management and bring proposed solutions to the table.
  • Responsible for ensuring goals are set for appropriate direct reports and for PDS completion annually as well as the mentoring and growth of employees within the group.
Please Note: This position can be a Sr. Supervisor Manufacturing Operations or Manager Manufacturing Operations based on the candidates qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, and responsibility requirements for this position.

**An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum of 5 years experience**

Qualifications You Must Have:

Sr. Supervisor Manufacturing Operations
  • Bachelors degree or an additional 2 years of Manufacturing Leadership experience may be substituted for each 1 year of college
  • 5 years of Leadership in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Experience or Education in machining and inspection techniques, and SAP-based production systems.
  • Prior working responsibilities to include quality, scheduling and cost preferably in an AS9100 factory environment.
Manager Manufacturing Operations
  • Bachelors degree or an additional 2 years of Manufacturing Leadership experience may be substituted for each 1 year of college
  • 8 years of Leadership in a Manufacturing environment
  • Experience and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles incorporated in an AS9100 production environment
  • Experience working with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, EHS, Maintenance, Transportation, Design Engineering and/or Scheduling.
