The Raytheon Precision Manufacturing organization (RPM) encompasses two remote location factories (Lemmon Ave., Dallas, TX and University St., McKinney, TX) that are structured under the Missile Systems business unit of Raytheon Company. RPM manufactures a wide variety of precision machined, plated, and painted parts for various radar, FLIR, Missile, and Communications systems across Raytheon. Each Value Stream Managers (VSM) is directly responsible for all manufacturing related activities within a production or prototype/development manufacturing environment.

The successful VSM candidate will report to the Factory Manager and be accountable for the daily management of their manufacturing areas for safety, security, quality, schedule, and cost. A VSM is tasked to define clear operational schedules, priorities, goals, and collaborate with functional management to allow for continuous manufacturing flow of precision machined and finished products. Additionally the VSM will have accountability for production deliveries, daily direction to salary support, and safety within their factory area. The ideal candidate will possess the demonstrated skills and verified experience necessary to perform in manufacturing, technical, and administrative leadership roles. Position is for first shift; however, the manufacturing environment can operate multiple shifts including weekend work. The successful candidate must be capable and willing to work extended hours (when required) in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.


Coordination of all necessary aspects and resources to successfully complete assigned requirements with full focus on safety, security, quality, schedule, and cost. Monitor and report on factory metrics (safety, cost, quality, and OTD). Assign resources to work issues that are negatively impacting performance. Coordinate with Fab Engineering on manufacturing process development activities. Communicate material shortages, performance to MRP and any other issue resulting in an impact to production to Factory and Program management and bring proposed solutions to the table. Responsible for ensuring goals are set for appropriate direct reports and for PDS completion annually as well as the mentoring and growth of employees within the group.

This position will start as a rotational assignment working across different factories.

Please Note: This position can be a Manager I Manufacturing or Manager II Manufacturing based on the candidates qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, and responsibility requirements for this position.

Required Skills:
  • 6 years of demonstrated leadership in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of machining processes
  • Experienced leader managing a large (20+ employees) cross-functional team.
  • Required experience with writing technical process documents and production work instructions.
  • Prior working responsibilities to include quality, scheduling and cost preferably in an AS9100 factory environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance

Desired Skills:
  • Proven ability to accurately forecast and manage manpower requirements.
  • Experience with/knowledge of N/C programming, CAD/CAM functions, and SAP-based production systems.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles incorporated in an AS9100 production environment.
  • Understanding of sequencing for fabrication, assembly, installation, inspection, and other manufacturing operations including manufacturing line balancing.
  • Experience in conflict mitigation between team members. Demonstrated ability to be organized, self-motivated, dependable, and work well with others in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Experience working collaboratively with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, EHS, Maintenance, Transportation, Design Engineering and Scheduling.

Required Education:

Bachelors degree; related experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.

This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization
