Raytheon Technologies Precision Manufacturing is a leader in high precision mechanical product manufacturing. The business consists of multiple sites in the Dallas area with around 560 employees. Raytheon Technologies Precision Manufacturing is experiencing growth with primary focus in the defense and aerospace markets.

Job Summary:

The Value Stream Leader is a hands on, direct staff leader, and facilitator of day-to-day planned activities. Responsibilities include personnel, product, process, charging, reporting, and administrative tasks. The Value Stream Leader works directly with the Value Stream Manager and other departments as necessary.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Assumes total responsibility for own work.
  • Perform complex setups, tool proofing, as well as troubleshoot product, process, program, and machine issues.
  • Operate both CNC and Manual Lathes
  • Thorough knowledge of feeds, speeds, materials, cutters, machining methodology, and safe operating practices.
  • Optimizes machining, tooling efficiency, and process to establish improvements resulting in higher quantity and improved quality of parts.
  • Utilizes all inspection equipment and tooling necessary to check own and others work, including manual tools and CMMs, (Coordinate Measuring Machines), etc.
  • May assist with designing and fabricating special item and tools. Employs a thorough knowledge of shop math; interprets engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Coordinate maintenance and preventative maintenance of all equipment in area.
  • Communicates effectively with engineers, coworkers and others during problem resolution and instructions.
  • Communicates the status of all jobs in flow at shift change, to effect a continued, smooth workflow.
  • Train, mentor, and otherwise improve the skill set of machinists that work in your area of responsibility.
  • Ensure Quality Control, Work Instruction adherence, Work Packet compliance, and PRISM transactions.
  • Creates monthly production goals with the Value Stream Manager; executes those goals to achieve facility production goals and schedule adherence.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings. Particularly the daily morning production meeting in which the previous day and current days performance will be reported and discussed with management.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 8 years experience concentrated in a Lathe machining environment
  • Experience with troubleshooting machine issues on both CNC and Manual Lathes.
  • Utilizes all inspection equipment and tooling necessary to check machine parts such as Micrometers, Calipers, and Indicators.
  • Experience with interpreting blue prints, GD&T, and/or specification sheets.
Qualifications We Value:
  • Knowledge of feeds, speeds, materials, cutters, machining methodology, and safe operating practices.
  • Experience with PC DMIS
  • CNC Lathe Programming
  • Able to write and edit G-Code
  • Experience with Gibbs Cam
  • Monitor and maintain safety, quality, schedule, process, and system adherence.
