The Research and Experience Definition team in the Client Platform and Silicon Architecture group, within the Client Computing Group at Intel, drives an outside-in approach to client computing architecture (from silicon to software and beyond) by gaining a deep understanding of how people use technology, in order to define experiences that fit into, and improve people's lives.

Job Description:
Intel is seeking a User Experience Designer to work alongside user experience researchers and silicon architects to imagine, prototype and clearly define new platform experiences based on a foundational understanding of people and technology.

In this position you will work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of UX designers, researchers, silicon architects and developers to identify, explore and communicate research-backed, experience-driven, use cases for our products. You will partner with user experience researchers in identifying research insights, and use future thinking to spark imaginations, inspire ideas and shepherd innovative solutions to complex problems.

Collaboration is essential, requiring you to be a great communicator, as you will ultimately document and communicate future experiences, using a variety of methods, to create shared understanding and ownership among a diverse set of team members, stakeholders, partners, and customers. In addition, you will identify risks and opportunities for improvement to designs, processes, and approaches and take initiative to create a path forward through uncertainty, helping others learn along the way.

Activities and responsibilities include:
- Understanding research insights and technology trends.
- Creating design collateral for personas, based on research.
- Planning and/or leading workshops to share insights, foster understanding, and generate ideas.
- Visually communicate desired experiences through a variety of methods, which may include user journeys, user scenarios, user flows, storyboards, small videos, mockups, or simple prototypes.
- Coordinating concept testing with the people who use our products to iteratively learn and improve solutions.
- Partnering with architects, engineers, and researchers to develop and prioritize experience roadmaps
- Progressing use cases to platforms through detailed design collateral, iterative conversation, and expert analysis.
- Identifying research questions and gaps in understanding and working with the user experience researchers to define research programs.
- Building strong relationships to champion user experiences that are cohesive inclusive and well-informed.

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Interaction Design, Service Design, HCI, Psychology or similar design field.
  • 3+ years' experience in user experience design in a team environment.
  • Portfolio showing 3+ years of experience of a wide range of user experience design methods.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3+ years' experience working with external agencies.
  • 3+ years of proven success in user experience design in a complex technology ecosystem.
  • 3+ years of experience working closely with user experience researchers and technologists.
