Apple's Sales organization generates the revenue needed to fuel our ongoing development of products and services. This in turn, enriches the lives of hundreds of millions of people around the world. As part of our Business Operations group, you and your team will be responsible for supporting sales team to deliver Apple technology to consumer partners. You'll apply your abilities for strategy, planning, and execution to devise operational solutions. Are you a strong and practical problem-solver with experience managing a sales operations/business operations / programs driven organization?

We are seeking a manager of Consumer Business Operations to support the U.S. Consumer Sales organization. In this role you will be responsible for optimizing sales output and productivity across a multi-billion dollar business by supporting sales planning, sales analytics, NPI planning and supply/allocation decisions, incentives, and key programs.

The role includes assimilating into the regular weekly cadence of the consumer business, but also looking at longer term opportunities and driving post-mortem/takeaways from events, promotions and market actions.

Key Qualifications

  • You have 10+ years of business planning, operations, strategy and/or sales management experience
  • You have commercial insight experience in complex consumer electronic retailer, ideally with deep familiarity with the retail, online channel in computers, tablets, wearable, phone etc.
  • You have demonstrated success in relevant positions encompassing consumer/business intelligence, consumer product marketing, product management, commercial management, market research, and/or strategy planning.
  • You possess a high level of numeracy and data management capabilities and excellent analytic and presentation/communication skills.
  • You have shown strength managing complex cross-functional initiatives

  • You can work effectively and efficiently across multiple organizations. As a manager in the business planning organization, you will partner directly with Sales leadership, Finance, Legal, and Contracts.

Description

We own consumer business performance analysis - identifying variances, defining causes, specifying potential actions and their impact. We understand and show impact of market and competitive dynamics on business performance over various time periods.

We deliver key components of weekly sales discussions with company leadership. We drive and measure execution impact across teams to deliver against opportunities.

We own perspective on key trends impacting end markets (industry structure, competitive behavior, consumer behavior, ecosystem economics, etc.) - We define implications of current and potential trends/events, and action plans.

We run sales performance analytics and quarterly/weekly dashboards for sales leadership; highlight implications and suggest actions for remediation/ improvement. We deliver overall and disaggregated analyses of sales performance (e.g., attainment, growth, growth vs. market/ sub-market, share changes).

We support business planning and lead business performance reviews (e.g., QBRs), NPI planning for consumer business.

We support sales ideas for growth by helping analyze their net economic impact and engage in allocation and supply analytics. We collaborate with reseller operations, finance, and sales to support forecast calls, evaluation of inventory needs, etc.

We provide analytics to manage trade-offs in times of product constraint (within business, across the U.S.)

We establish business rules and quota guidelines (with finance), we drive quota allocation process; ensure transparency into goals and attainment. We define, communicate, and manage quota targets for sales teams.

Education & Experience

bachelor's degree; master's degree preferred.

  • Have analogous functional experience, appropriate industry familiarity.
