We have an opening for a Service Operations Specialist. You will administratively support a broad scope of functions associated with customer support to the Technical Information Department (TID) and Print and Digital Media operations. As the frontline TID ambassador, you will oversee and plan activities and functions, such as customer support/marketing, product management and operations management. This position is in the Technical Information Department.

This position will be filled at either the A07.1 or A07.2 level depending on your qualifications. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if you are selected at the higher level.

Essential Duties

- Assess TID and Print and Digital Media operations area requirements and deliverables; monitor and update production scheduler and respond to customer inquiries on job status.
- Assist with customer pickup and make deliveries when needed.
- Interpret customer needs and research and identify solutions to tasks and queries.
- Collaborate and coordinate efforts with customers and vendors across the Lab to ensure the completion of projects and ongoing activities.
- Coordinate small projects including timeline planning and communicate identified resources to team members for a clear understanding of assignments.
- Prepare a variety of reports, tracking and updating involved performance data.
- Respond to customer requests, interpreting and adhering to established guidelines while identifying process improvements.
- Perform duties of TRR coordinator and ensure on-hand inventory is fully stocked at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

In Addition, at the A07.2 Level

- Review product pricing to ensure alignment with costs of materials.
- Analyze product purchasing trends and customer needs to advise management on new business opportunities.
- Monitor metrics for customer service and survey results.
- Lead larger customer campaigns through the production process.


- Experience coordinating work activities, workflow, and processes for a service operations/customer service area, including the ability to coordinate multiple administrative projects.
- Knowledge of industry best business practices, techniques, standards, processes, and systems in support of a service operations area.
- Ability to support the development and implementation of business and service area processes and process improvements for a service operation area.
- Experience collecting, tracking, and reporting performance data.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively both individually and in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers, programmatic personnel, and management.
- Knowledge of personal computers and automated business tools and technologies, including experience with business planning and tracking tools.

In Addition, at the A07.2 Level.

- Experience developing supporting business and service area processes and generating process improvements for a service operations area.
- Experience analyzing performance data.
- Experience applying industry best practices, techniques, standards, processes, and systems in support of a service operations area.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks with attention to detail.

Desired Qualifications

- Ability to adapt to different communication styles within a diverse work environment and effectively communicate respectfully and professionally with all levels of management.

Pre-Employment Drug Test: External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test. This includes testing for use of marijuana as Federal Law applies to us as a Federal Contractor.

Security Clearance: This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.

If you are selected, wewill initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if youmeet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. In addition, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold multiple citizenships (U.S. and another country), you may be required to renounce your non-U.S. citizenship before a DOE L or Q clearance will be processed/granted.

Note: This is a Career Indefinite position. Lab employees and external candidates may be considered for this position.
