Intel's Multi-Product Shuttle team within the Testchip Engineering group in Advanced Design division under Technology and Manufacturing Group (TMG) is looking for entry level Design Automation Engineer. 

This engineer will support various aspects of VLSI design automation tasks includes but not be limited to: 

  • Define and implement verification scripts/flows to ensure teschip design meet tapeout requirements.
  • Developing computer aided design (CAD) automation flows for physical design verification, Design Rule Checking (DRC), layout synthesis and validation.
  • Performing audits of VLSI layout to help ensure layout convergence for tapeout schedule readiness and design database acceptance for tapeout.
  • Provide customer support to testchip passengers during design tapeout executions (includes design rules, fullchip layout collaterals, tapeout requirements/procedure)

This is an entry level position and compensation will be given accordingly.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.

9+ months experience in the following areas:

  • VLSI design experience
  • At least one of the following: C/C++, Perl, Python, Ruby, SKILL, TCL
  • UNIX/Linux

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Computer algorithm
  • CMOS
  • Understanding of layout design rules
  • Integrated circuits (IC)
  • Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys IC Validator or Mentor Calibre is preferred
