Aethercomm designs and manufactures RF and Microwave amplifier modules, subsystems and systems. The majority of our work is custom. The reliability and effectiveness of thousands of Aethercomm products has been tested and proven in combat, helping to protect and save the lives of our warfighters.

Aethercomm is looking to fill a Test Engineer I position. 

Scope: The purpose of this standard procedure is to establish and define the functional role, requirements, reporting relationships, authority, responsibilities and measurements of performance of the Test Engineer I at Aethercomm. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Assist in the generation of documentation in the form of Design Verification Test (DVT) Procedures, Qualification Test Procedures (QTP), Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) and Test Data Record’s (TDR’s).

    Assist in Test Procedure automation using LabVIEW software.  Including writing, maintaining, troubleshooting, documenting and production support.

    Assist in the design of new test setups, especially special test equipment (STE) and harness design, development, documentation and integration. 

    Check work to improve test methodology, design, and operation, and generate test reports for internal and external customers.

    Have comprehensive knowledge of testing methods and use of test equipment.

    Assist in investigating potential cost savings or value enhancements.

    Assist in ensuring that projects are completed accurately and on time. 

    Assist in maintaining current and accurate design records. 

    Assist in preparing electronic designs as required, meeting commitments of the company.

    Assist in providing engineering support to the electrical engineering department, as required.

    Provide test support to the Production Test Department.

    Provide mentoring and training to technicians where and when needed.

    Effectively communicate with all parties involved in a project.

    Assist in responding to customer inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within scope of knowledge or refer to an employee of higher classification.

    Assist with paraprofessional activities including design preparation and other related technical support.

    Ensure company compliance in accordance with AS9100.

    Check email daily and respond, as appropriate.

A Bachelor's Degree (B.S.), Master’s Degree (M.S.) preferred, from a four-year college or university in the electronics or physics disciplines, and two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated experience.

Language Ability: 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Has the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Has the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Higher level mathematics, such as calculus, are also required.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Required Computer Skills:

MS Office, (Word, Excel, Outlook), Internet software, LabVIEW. Microsoft Visual Studio C, C#, C++, VB.net or any other programming languages. Database knowledge, SQL, Pspice, or equivalent.

Must be a US Person and be able to obtain a US Security Clearance
