Job Description

The Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) System Engineering Division (SEN) is seeking a Test Engineer with the ability to analyze and test complex software systems through all phases of design, development, and deployment. As a test engineer, you will perform software and systems testing for a mid-sized team of engineers executing ongoing sponsored programs in the field of applications development for commercial in-flight entertainment systems.

Job Duties:

  • Lead test development, debug, and execution of formal testing for system of systems
  • Support networking testing and benchmarking
  • Participate in Agile Scrum team meetings
  • Develop, execute, review, and evaluate automated test cases
  • Perform different types of testing - functional, regression, and security
  • Record, communicate, and resolve software defects with relevant software team members
  • Design and implement systems engineering business processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate I

  • A Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, mathematics, business administration or related field.

Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate II

  • A Master’s degree in science, engineering, mathematics, business administration or related field and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Master’s degree in science, engineering, mathematics, business administration or related field and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in science, engineering, mathematics, business administration or related field.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Familiarity with software engineering and/or software testing processes
  • Experience creating and conducting technical presentations
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Robot Framework, Appium test framework and Android application testing
  • Experience with Atlassian software development and collaboration tools
  • Experience with Linux/Unix

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance upon hire
