Job Description

The Test Automation Systems Engineer in the Test Engineering (TEN) Division will design, develop, and execute automated testing solutions for Electronic Warfare (EW) and avionics Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) test systems. These HITL test systems provide high fidelity simulation and stimulation of real-time Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR), Radio Frequency (RF) and avionics environments for testing EW and avionics systems. These systems protect aircraft from adversary ground and airborne threat systems. 

Job Duties

  • Design and implement automated testing solutions for a variety of hardware and software-based systems
  • Assess system testability/suitability through the review of requirements and other documentation
  • Develop test plans, procedures, scripts, data, reports, and other related formal test artifacts
  • Conduct formal test events by executing developed automated test procedures and compiling test artifacts/reports for sponsored projects
  • Review peer-developed artifacts and code to ensure conformance with standards, accuracy of implementation, and adherence to an appropriate level of technical detail and professionalism

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist I/Technologist I

  • A Bachelor's degree in  Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related degree field.

Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist II

  • A Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related degree field and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related degree field and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelors degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related degree field.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidates currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree program relevant to this position will be considered. Candidates must have a graduation date of no later than May, 2022.
  • Experience with test engineering processes and methodologies applicable to complex, software-intensive systems
  • Experience with a test automation framework (e.g., Robot Framework, Selenium, Cucumber) 

Preferred Qualifications

  •  Experience working with any modern programming language. (e.g., Java, C, C++, C#, Python)
  • Experience with Docker, Jenkins or other continuous development tools
  • Experience with a configuration management system (e.g., Git)
  • Active SECRET security clearance

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
