Tenure Track Position 

Assistant Professor of Computer Information Systems 

School of Business Administration

Fort Lewis College - Durango, Colorado


One tenure-track position in Computer Information Systems is available starting mid-August 2020, at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and teach a range of CIS courses including Network Infrastructure, IT Security and intro CIS
  • Professional certifications and/or professional work experience in IT management or systems development
  • Ph.D. from an AACSB or ABET accredited institution
  • Demonstrated success of working in a diverse environment
  • Interest to work in a cross-disciplinary environment
  • Online teaching experience

Responsibilities:

Teaching at the undergraduate level with a standard teaching load of 24 credits per year of which three may be authorized for research release. Student mentoring is required. Fort Lewis College has professional academic advisors who perform student advising activities. The School of Business Administration is committed to developing forward thinking and innovative curricula. Successful applicants will be expected to engage in service activities such as student clubs, college committees, etc. and maintain an active research stream.

Compensation
School of Business Administration salary and benefits are competitive with AACSB accredited schools of similar size.

Requirements

Required Qualifications: 

  • Ph.D. in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related technical field
    • Candidates who are ABD with promise of degree completion within one academic year will be considered
  • Ability and interest in teaching in multiple areas of the CIS program
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence
  • Demonstrated record of scholarship
