Tenure Track Faculty Position

The UNC Charlotte Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor starting in Spring 2022. Candidates with strong academic records and research interests in all areas of computer engineering including high performance computing, parallel and distributed computing, embedded computing systems, cloud and edge computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, human-computer interaction, security and privacy, and others are encouraged to apply. Exceptional candidates in related areas such as computer vision, image processing and robotics, will also be considered.

Candidates should be committed to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, development of sponsored research programs, supervision of student research, student mentoring, and academic services. Priority will be given to candidates having original and promising research as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications, potential for success in extramural funding, and a plan for future research that integrates well with existing department strengths. A Ph.D. degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent is required by the time of contract.

The ECE department offers B.S. and M.S. degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering, with approximately 700 undergraduate and 175 graduate students; see http://ece.uncc.edu
