The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (http://engineering.unl.edu/ece) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the area of automation and systems integration.

The UNL College of Engineering is undergoing an exciting period of significant growth with two major building projects underway. A major focus of the college’s teaching, research and outreach enterprise in the coming decade is on developing industrial automation in manufacturing science and engineering, including the automated manufacture of equipment, devices and components, and integration of these in systems. Consequently, the College is seeking to hire a multidisciplinary group of faculty that have complementary expertise in all aspects of manufacturing. Specific areas of expertise include power electronics systems, heterogeneous sensor network integration and data acquisition, sensor data fusion and representation, decision theory, automation, advanced control systems, robotics, and systems integration.

The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering consists of approximately 35 tenure/tenure-track faculty, 400 undergraduate students, and 120 graduate students co-located in two cities, Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska. An outstanding infrastructure exists for conducting research, including several power electronics and industrial control test beds, an Opal-RT Simulator, microgrid, other industrial systems platforms, and the Holland Computing Center (hcc@unl.edu). Opportunities for collaborations across the University of Nebraska include the University of Nebraska Medical Center, the Nebraska Center for Energy Sciences Research, the Nebraska Center for Materials and Nanoscience, the Nebraska Engineering Additive Technologies (NEAT) lab (https://engineering.unl.edu/NEAT/) which houses multiple metal additive manufacturing and bioprinting capabilities, and other state- and federally-funded research centers and programs. Applicants are encouraged to visit the aforementioned websites to learn of the facilities available and the on-going research in manufacturing.

Click “Apply to this job” and complete the information form. Attach a cover letter; CV; research, teaching and diversity statements; and list of three references. Note, please combine teaching, research and diversity statements into a single pdf document (4 pages total) and attach as “Other Document.” For more information on the requested candidate statements, please visit https://engineering.unl.edu/candidate-statements/.
