Whole Life Engineering (WLE) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user. Full Spectrum Partnering Center is a division within WLE that fulfills High Mix/Low Volume contracts with engineering services and a specialized technician force.

Job Summary:
Were seeking a motivated professional to take on the role of Readiness And Prototype Fabrication Support Technician, based at the Full Spectrum Partnering Center in Poulsbo, WA where youll interface with Integrated Product Team Leads, Subject Matter Experts, Peer Technicians, and the Customer.

As a Technician youll provide meaningful field and on-site support to our various high mix / low volume programs, and youll support hands-on work, such as, cable manufacturing, electronic assembly, test set fabrication, and mechanical assembly.

Youll have the opportunity to work within the Integrated Product Team to assist in developing the best methods for implementing integration activities to meet customer requirements. Youll also be responsible for the assembly of electrical/mechanical equipment, conduction of factory acceptance tests, facility setup, equipment control, equipment monitoring, and data collection.

Your efforts will ensure our products are built for sustainment and obsolescence, and your technical experience will help to influence the product life cycle from inception to development and sustainment.

In this role youll assist with performing troubleshooting and adjustment of both the product and test setup when technical issues arise. And youll leverage your work experience to expand on the team knowledge base for issue resolution and increase integration throughput.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:,
  • Supporting the Integrated Product Team Lead in directing engineering activities
  • Performing setup and teardown for product declassing, repairing as necessary, and conducting factory acceptance tests.
  • Troubleshooting instrumentation equipment, data acquisition systems, and test setups to identify and remedy issues with correct operation.
  • Assessing system performance and supportability and recommending improvements to increase technical capability, maintainability, and sustainability
  • Implementing manufacturing best practices to ensure tests are being run correctly and the gathered data is accurate.
  • Safeguarding of classified/proprietary material, hardware and documentation.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Education: AA/AS degree or other 2 year post high school training

Employment Experience:
  • 8+ years experience with manufacturing processes or assembly of mechanical or electronic assemblies.
  • Experience operating or troubleshooting either mechanical hardware, electrical instruments, or computer systems.
  • Hands on experience using basic hand and power tools such as soldering iron, torque wrenches, or electronic test equipment.
  • Active and in-scope US Secret security clearance. US citizenship is required as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:
  • Knowledge of working with bill of materials, assembly planning and work instructions.
  • Working knowledge of military and commercial manufacturing processes.
  • Must be quality focused.
  • Able to multi-task in an integration environment.
  • Must be self-motivated and possess good written communication skills, especially in documenting challenges during assembly.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be adaptable and willing to work varying assignments.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Power Point/Project).
  • Experience setting up and troubleshooting of FES (Front End Server) racks.
  • Previous work or academic technical writing experience with test plans or reports.
  • Previous certifications in crimping using J-STD-001, soldering, and solder inspection using using IPC 610.
