Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, motivated and detailed individual for our R & D Communication Networks and Precise Timing group. You will be working on Ethernet network, and Satellite clocks products used in the Electrical Power System. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Work with R&D, Marketing, Sales and customers to ensure that SEL makes the right product at the right time.
2. Maintain an understanding of the end user, how they use the product, and identify and evaluate product line opportunities.
3. Work closely with Marketing and Sales to develop sales forecasts, marketing plans, draft sales and marketing collateral, support customers and provide training.
4. Think strategically when creating and managing key elements of the product throughout the lifecycle including the roadmap, data sheet, technical presentations, pricing, customer requests, and competitive analysis.
5. Participate in industry technical meetings and standard committees.
6. Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
7. Understand. Create. Simplify.
8. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience
Knowledge of electric power systems, telecommunications, automation systems or other relevant discipline
Excellent technical communication and writing skills
Knowledge of product life cycle planning
Willing to travel 25%
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)

MS Degree in Engineering
