Job Description

Xeon Engineering Group is looking for a technical lead/senior verification engineer with prior SoC or IP pre-silicon Validation experience to join our organization.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Drive overall product quality of Xeon server programs through validation strategy, test plans definition, content development and execution, improving coverage, working with other managers and tech leads within XEG and other partner organizations.
  • Effectively interface and influence architects, micro architects, pre-silicon simulation teams, emulation teams and post-si validation partners to define/develop/execute cohesive validation plans to achieve high quality tape-ins.
  • Define new and innovative strategies to shift-left and find HW/FW bugs faster, minimizing any escapes into post-silicon.  Work with verification infrastructure teams on new tools, flows or methods to advance the state of the art.

  • Exceptional technical leadership skills and technical expertise in solving complex problems through technical forums and help deliver SoCs and products at a pace faster than prior art.
  • Experienced, well-versed individual who can contribute in the technical reviews of design and mentor other engineers in the organization and own critical program deliverables and provide technical assessments to senior management.
  • Proven track record of product development from concept all the way through to production.  Has delivered exceptional results through hands-on technical involvement through creation of verification strategies, validation infrastructure, transactor and checker development, content development and/or debug.
  • Strong record of collaboration, team building and strengthening partnerships; willing to work effectively and influence leads or teams across organizations.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and have as much fun and growth as possible in the process


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidate must have earned a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or Computer Science and have 9+ years of relevant experience -OR-  a Masters Degree Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or Computer Science and have 6+ years of relevant experience -OR- a PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or Computer Science and have 4+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifying relevant experience for this role consists of:

  • Architecture experience with cache coherency protocols, memory subsystem, and multiprocessor designs.
  • Validation experience developing unit or system level test-benches and test plan creation.
  • Coordinating and steering the efforts of multiple teams and team members.
  • Developing test-bench components such as monitors, scoreboard/checkers, and bus functional models (BFMs).
  • HDL such as Verilog/System Verilog with OVM/UVM

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Perl/Python.
  • Developing with FPGA and Emulation-based validation platforms.
  • Formal verification methodologies, tools and languages.
  • Developing/validating CPU flows such as Reset, Power Management, or Boot flows.
