Job Description

The Fab Materials (FM), Wet Chemicals Technical Group Leader (GL) will report directly to the FM Wet Chemicals/CMS/Filtration (WCF) Materials Area Manager. Their primary responsibility will be for the development of the Wet Chemical technical staff, managing the group to align to current and emerging challenges on Intels wet chemical supply lines. The technical GL will be responsible for achieving goals in the areas of safety, environmental/social governance, cost, quality, and materials availability as well as meeting current and future materials technology requirements.

As the Technical Group Leader, you will be responsible for but not limited to: 


  • Managing technical aspects of the wet and bulk chemical supply line.
  • Continually improving the technical capability and quality performance of the supply base through the application of PCS practices and quality systems.
  • Managing the WCF material change control process ensuring the proactive qualification of supplier and Intel driven changes in advance of need dates to ensure there are no impacts to fab operations, process development, and technology ramps.
  • Working closely with the WCF commercial team to drive strategies for developing and sustaining robust, cost-effective chemical supply lines.
  • Setting priorities for the team, getting results across boundaries, ensuring an inclusive work environment, developing employees, and managing performance.
  • Planning, providing resources and directing activities in engineering functions to meet schedules, standards, and costs.
  • Cultivating and reinforcing appropriate group values, norms, and behaviors.
  • Identifying and analyzing problems, plans, tasks, and solutions.
  • Providing guidance to employees regarding development, performance, and productivity issues.
  • Planning and scheduling daily tasks and using judgment on a variety of problems requiring deviation from standard practices.
  • Inadequacies and erroneous decisions would cause moderate inconvenience and expense.
  • *Strong working relationships with the Technology Development (TD) engineering staff to support selection and risk mitigation for materials that support new process technologies and a strong network of contacts in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, & Operations (MSO), and TD to sustain and drive continuous improvement of materials supplied to High Volume Manufacturing.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must possess at least one of the following degrees plus the years of experience determined for each degree in the areas specified below  

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field of study with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field of study with 6+ years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in TD/MSO factory/TD/Materials engineering management.
  • Wet Chemicals application experience in TD or factory operations.
  • Knowledge of Intel wet etch and cleans application technology, Intel process development, and transfer practices, Intel change control and CE Requirements, advanced process control methods, supplier management experience, and a strong personal network of professional contacts both inside and outside Intel.
