Organizational Unit Overview
The College of Engineering and Technology is comprised of the departments of Computer Science, Construction Management, Engineering, and Technology Systems. Faculty and /staff in the College provide high-quality graduate and undergraduate degree opportunities and research and service programs that enable students to achieve their career goals and that promote a strong, sustainable future for our region.

Job Duties
Faculty members are expected to provide leadership in developing, teaching, and maintaining curriculum in the undergraduate programs using both traditional and distance delivery methods. Applicants in a wide range of bioprocess engineering, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, and related disciplines will be considered, but those with professional and/or teaching experience in areas such as bioprocess/biopharma engineering, and biomolecular engineering are especially sought. Teaching assignments may range from core engineering courses such as introduction to engineering, engineering graphics, circuit analysis, sensors & controls, or concentration courses such as engineering applications of microbial systems, bioprocess engineering systems, bioprocess separation systems, foundations in biomedical engineering, and biomedical instrumentation. Candidates should be committed to engage in recruitment and outreach activities to feeder community colleges and high schools and advise current and prospective students on opportunities in the bioprocess / biopharma industry as well as collaborate with industry partners on curriculum, placement, and incumbent worker training and any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience

  • A Master’s degree or higher in an engineering field from a regionally accredited institution. Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

  • Ph.D. (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering field
  • Background in engineering education and knowledge of continuous improvement processes and ABET accreditation requirements.
  • Industry, teaching and/or laboratory experience in biopharma or bioprocess engineering
  • Background or interest in outreach and collaboration activities involving industry, community colleges, and K-12 programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others.
  • Demonstrate commitment to equity and diversity through teaching and/or public engagement.
