Job Description

Join the Tapeout team and be a part of the Silicon Manufacturing chain at Intel. Tapeout is the first step in Silicon Manufacturing of all chips and technologies at Intel.

This is an Engineering position responsible for configuring, processing, and quality checking tapeout projects that transform chip design data to mask data on all of Intel's advanced silicon manufacturing processes.
The position involves project management across an integrated tapeout process, where the Product Engineer manages hardware resources, software applications and technology specific process settings to release a data set to mask manufacturing.

The position involves technical quality checking of synthesized mask patterns relative to intended design drawings for various tapeout modules.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Defining Tapeout Manufacturing Assurance (TMA) plans that ensure success at final execution.

  • Managing, organizing, and planning all details of tapeout project (timing, resource needs, stakeholder alignment and communication).

  • Setting up and managing project automation, and executing product tapeouts to final transfer of data to Intel Mask Operations (IMO).

  • Responsible for continuous improvement of Product Engineer processes.

  • Responsible for project metric analysis to document product tapeout process of record, and improvement opportunities.

  • Engineering disposition of quality checks and data.

This is an entry level position and compensation will be given accordingly.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess Bachelor's Degree in STEM aligned field of study (electrical, material science, physics, math, or similar engineering) related to the semiconductor industry and 5yrs of releveant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in/with:

  • project management, project planning, and computer information systems

  • Chip design flow with emphasis on physical design. Chip physical design automation compute applications

  • Windows and Linux operating systems including scripting languages

  • Distributed computing and datacenter system architecture

  • Database architecture and query languages such as SQL

  • Statistical data analysis and analysis tools

  • Previous experience in the areas of mask data generation, design rule verification, or tapeout related flow programming would be an added advantage
