Intel's IoT Group is one of the fastest growing organizations within Intel and is creating a world class software capability. Our IoTG HSPE team is looking for a Software Engineer focused on security to join a team of experienced security engineers to gather system level requirements, design, implement code and build embedded or hardware prototypes to demonstrate new concepts for protecting AI systems from advanced cyber-attacks. Leverage expertise of embedded architecture and design to perform vulnerability assessments and recommend best practices to implement or integrate existing hardened cyber security modules on AI platform. Responsibilities can range from requirements gathering and code development with opportunities to innovate. The ideal candidate will have software development experience and knowledge of Intel Architecture.

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Help design, develop, integrate, and implement security software solutions using Intel and ARM Architecture.
  • Work to understand use cases, help clarify or develop requirements, produce associated documentation.
  • Establishing relationships and coordinating across sites to deliver software. Software development/integration and participate in code reviews.
  • Work cross-organizationally as part of a multi-site team.
  • Provide concise development status and communications to coordinate, influence, or raise issues to management and technical leaders.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills in addition to the qualifications listed below.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willing to work with the team to clarify ambiguity, drive owned tasks with a cross-geo stakeholders.
  • Strong demonstration or history of software/embedded debugging capabilities.
  • Motivated to learn and excited about security and software development integration.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field with 4+ years of experience or Masters degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • Software development.
  • C, C++, Python and/or related languages experience.
  • Implementation/integration of embedded software features.
  • Linux software development experience as well as Windows operating systems.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Security experience; aware of secure coding practices.
  • Platform design and trusted execution environments (TEE), e.g., Intel SGX and ARM Trust Zone, BIOS/UEFI.
  • Python and Linux scripting experience.
  • Experience that spans BIOS and bootloaders, boot flows, drivers, FPGA and middleware.
  • Security Threat modeling.
  • Experienced in key management systems, security architecture.
  • Cryptography experience, cryptographic algorithms, security modeling, encryption/decryption, and/or security and identity management.
  • Experienced with Docker, Kubernetes, Linux namespaces.
  • Power management and Virtualization experience.
  • Remote manageability experience.
  • VxWorks and Windows driver development experience.
