Lockheed Martin is seeking an experience Systems Reliability Engineer that is ready to engage in projects that contribute to the safety and security of the United States and its Allies while collaborating with some of the most experienced engineers in the industry.
MET-I Description: The Missile Defense Agency Engineering Team – Industry (MET-I), also called the National Team, provides systems engineering solutions to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) for the development and evolution of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). The BMDS is an integrated, layered architecture that provides multiple opportunities to destroy missiles and their warheads before they can reach their targets. MET-I system engineers perform system-level assessments of the existing BMDS architecture and study the impacts of new technologies and concepts being considered for future BMDS architectures. The National Team engineers work closely with the MDA, FFRDCs, and various contractors and suppliers to shape the future of missile defense.
Systems Reliability Engineer Position: The successful candidate will support development of Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) requirements for the BMDS. The candidate will assess RAM characteristics from various elements to create a comprehensive system assessment. The candidate will provide input to or perform trade analyses. The individual will develop system-of-system level documentation that includes requirements allocation and flow-down through engineering analysis and assessment of BMDS Elements/Components and candidate architectures. The candidate will routinely interface with other National Team-Industry Integrated Product Teams and will support and participate in technical meetings with MDA counterparts working in small teams comprised of 4-8 multi-discipline engineers. The individual may lead the planning and progress reporting of tasks and coordination with functional and technical working group leads, senior management and government counterparts. The individual will have strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities along with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders from MDA, FFRDCs, subcontractors, and partner company reachback. The individual will create and present briefings within the team and to Missile Defense Agency (MDA)

Basic Qualifications

Able to develop solutions to a wide range of complex system-of-systems technical problems that require ingenuity, innovation and collaboration with multiple stakeholders

Experience developing RAM requirements

Familiarity with RAM prediction, allocation, and modeling techniques such as FMECA or FMEA

Active SECRET Clearance

Desired skills

Experience leading cross-functional technical teams

Strong communication skills, presentation at milestone reviews

Experience mentoring peer and junior employees
