If you answered "yes", then the Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) Directorate of Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) is interested in helping you advance your career. Our elite team in Huntsville, AL, is responsible for integration, test, and validation activities for multiple RMD programs. Our talented engineers collaborate across disciplines from initial concepts to product sell off, integrate complex technology, debug and resolve interface issues, evaluate system performance, demonstrate and sell off state-of-the-art products for areas including radars, command and control platforms, missile systems, and cyber defense.

As a Radar Systems IV&V Lead, you will lead efforts to perform formal requirements verification and performance testing on some of the most advanced defense radar systems in the world, including hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) and potentially on-site, high power operations. Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Leading the radar verification team, including detailed planning and technical execution of formal verification events associated with upcoming capability releases and providing status on assigned IMS (Integrated Master Schedule) tasks as required;

Developing working relationships with USG customer stakeholders to ensure technical performance and functionality is measured appropriately and in line with expectations;
Participating in key processes including peer reviews, gate reviews, and test readiness reviews;

Collaborating closely with program Chief Engineer and Systems Engineering and Requirements Management teams to maintain consistent test/analysis approaches and align scope;

Guiding and participating in the construction of analysis tools and processes for handling large data sets and resolving technical questions;

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Minimum 8 years of test or systems engineering experience specifically including requirements development, system test, integration, verification and validation testing, or relatable experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline (preferably Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Physics)

  • Experience performing and executing test methodology within an HWIL or other simulation-based environment
  • Analytical capabilities, or an ability to relate observed phenomenon back to first principles
  • Experience executing IV&V activities within team environment
  • Experience communicating directly with IPT leaders, hardware, software, and algorithm development engineers, specialty engineers, program managers, and customers
  • Experience with basic scripting and/or software development (MATLAB preferred, Java/C++/C# also acceptable)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

    The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

    Qualifications We Value:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience specifically including test, integration, or verification and validation of X-Band family of radars (GBRP, AN/TPY-2, XBR) or other Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) radar
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as lead of a small team or related leadership role

  • Strong background in statistics and statistical analysis processes
  • Working level experience with requirements traceability, requirements management, or documentation of IV&V products within DOORS
  • Experience with requirements test development, test analysis, derivations, verification and test validation
  • Experience working within a structured Systems Engineering process environment including a task-oriented, value-based management system and tracking to metrics such as EVM
  • Experience in both Windows and Linux/Unix environments
  • Experience executing testing in or analyzing data produced by radar HWIL environments or strings
  • The ability to support domestic travel up to 25%
  • Masters degree in a related STEM discipline
