We are seeking a key technical lead and integrator for the Global Positioning System III (GPS III) Space Vehicle Design and Launch Integration team responsible for the Space Vehicle integration with various launch providers. The Systems Engineer will serve as the Launch System Integration lead and provide leadership to coordinate and manage the tasks necessary to verify the Space Vehicle design is adequate to integrate seamlessly into the GPSIII launch vehicle from design, through launch integration, to delivery on orbit. The Systems Engineer will be looked to as the authority for providing and driving all analysis to verify compliance of Space Vehicle design to the launch vehicle ICD

The primary responsibilities for the Systems Engineer include personnel assignments, leading the resolution of critical issues, overseeing and leading vehicle integration and design issues that arise during the production build up and future design updates, vertical/horizontal communications, interaction with senior management (including the Air Force customer and their technical representatives in the Aerospace Corp.), and performance management. In addition this Systems Engineer will be the Subject Matter Expert for the Payload Adapter, the key interface between the Spacecraft and the Launch Vehicle

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) or a closely related field
• 4 years in mechanical design and/or integration for aerospace components, subsystems, or systems or 2 years with a related Master’s degree
• 2 years in Space Vehicle Integration or Mechanical design/analysis
• Ability to assess broad impacts to mechanical design and integration at a space vehicle level
• Demonstrated experience in leading diverse engineering team members to achieve programmatic requirements and goals
• US Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance

Desired skills
• Space Vehicle Integration and payload adapter interface design, testing, and verification
• Working with geographically separated personnel and teams
• Integrating complex information and summarizing to senior management and customers via email or presentations
• Familiarity with Design/Integration at a spacecraft level with Systems Engineering integration principles
• Certified Principal Engineer or Delegate CPE for mechanical structures or subsystems
• Launch Vehicle Integration with other Spacecraft
• Coupled loads analysis, slosh analysis, and environmental impacts on a spacecraft
• GPS III and/or other Military Space or A2100 based programs
• Willingness to support other programs beyond GPS III as required
• CAD Proficiency (I-DEAS, Creo, etc.)
• Active Security Clearance
