The systems control engineer will support the Q-SYS product line, especially installations involving complex control elements. This person will serve as the 'control expert' of the AET group, handling escalated support cases directly, and educating integrators/internal staff on control methodologies and best practices. This will also require the development of customer documentation on practical deployment and troubleshooting methods where necessary.

As the Q-SYS control platform develops, the systems control engineer will be responsible for quality assurance and will serve as the gatekeeper for LUA scripted modules and 'plugins' intended to control external devices from Q-SYS. This person will develop and enforce scripting standards in order to maintain a library of efficient, well-written and well-commented code.

* Directly support escalated cases exhibiting problems with control
* Identify topics needing customer documentation, create content and work with documentation to publish final product
* Create and deliver advanced training materials on control-oriented topics for both internal and external parties
* Provide efficient and effective response and resolution to a variety of incidents and service requests
* Provide project status updates for management and customers, communicate progress and issues and makes modifications as needed
* Ensure that all issues/tickets are addressed properly and all records are maintained in QSC's CRM system
* Mentor other members of AET and share information on control related topics
* Provide onsite and programming systems services as required
* Develop coding standards for Q-SYS scripted controls and plugins, review script and plugin code, oversee distribution
* Perform other job-related duties as assigned or apparent

* Minimum 5 years in the audiovisual and/or IT industries in customer facing roles
* Strong understanding of and experience in audiovisual systems design, technical support and troubleshooting
* Advanced Crestron or AMX programming certification required
* Knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language (LUA a plus)
* Knowledge of contact/relay/logic controls, serial data types and Ethernet control transports
* Knowledge of Ethernet networking, AEC, VoIP and POTS telephony a plus
* Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team oriented environment
* Bachelor's Degree from a related field is a plus
* Customer-centric mindset and ability to prioritize multiple tasks for efficient work output
* Strong communication skills, ability to clearly and concisely describe problems to varied audiences
* Ability to interpret, evaluate and communicate detailed information
