The Advanced Technical Computing Center (ATCC) is seeking a candidate to provide system administration and develop applications for a variety of sponsors and projects in support of the Center for Programs and Technology (CPT).

 

We offer an exciting career in many specialty fields within information technology to include managing labs. Our organization administers a variety of operating systems to include Linux, Windows, and other UNIX variants and infrastructure systems (e.g., update servers for operating systems and applications, antivirus updates, identity management, domain name management, logging/auditing, scripted enterprise configuration management, etc.). Our environments typically include virtualization platforms, large storage systems (SAN and NAS), databases, and networks. Our organization also is involved with data and compute clouds where we build the cloud, then write, install, and integrate applications and big data. We rely upon proven experience in our labs to help guide decision making for our government customers most difficult problems.

This position will support the administration of the network systems used for classified processing in support of classified lab environments, as well as ensure the configuration of all systems in accordance with the appropriate security policies.

Key Functions:

        Provide technical support to more senior staff on information system projects in a dynamic computer laboratory environment.

        Set up, conduct and document performance and evaluation tests or experiments.

        Develop, modify, and maintain documents.

        Install software, including databases, spreadsheets, information system models, simulations, and home-grown applications.

        Learn and apply the fundamentals of system administration to laboratory systems.

        Ability to obtain a security clearance from the US Government

Preferred Qualifications:

        Bachelors degree in computer science, math, engineering, or an associated field

        Basic use of Linux, Windows, or other UNIX flavors: CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu, Mac OS X

        Familiarity with basic computer networking and routing

        Troubleshooting basic internet protocols and standards such as DNS, DDNS, DHCP, BOOTP, SMTP, S/FTP, HTTP/S, NFS, CIFS/SMB, PKI, TCP, UDP

        Possess at least one of the following industry certifications:

o   GSEC, Security + CE, SSCP, CCNA Security, Network + and A or the ability to obtain Security + certification within one year of hire

        Writing technical documentation


        Basic use of virtualization technology such as VMware, Openstack

o   Desired experience in:
System administration
Database administration
Virtualization administration
Compute cluster administration such as Hadoop, Spark
Current Secret security clearance.

Required experience in:


Bachelors degree in computer science, math, engineering, or an associated field
Basic use of Linux, Windows, or other UNIX flavors: CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu, Mac OS X
Familiarity with basic computer networking and routing
Programming in at least 1 of the following languages: C, C++, Perl, Python, Java, shell scripts
Familiarity with some web/front-ends such as SOA, XML, JSON, javascript, HTML 5, CSS
Troubleshooting basic internet protocols and standards such as DNS, DDNS, DHCP, BOOTP, SMTP, S/FTP, HTTP/S, NFS, CIFS/SMB, PKI, TCP, UDP
Writing technical documentation
Basic experience using at least 1 of the following databases: MySQL, SQL, Oracle, MarkLogic
Basic use of virtualization technology such as VMware, Openstack

Desired experience in:


System administration
Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or Salt
Database administration
Virtualization administration
Compute cluster administration such as Hadoop, Spark
No clearance is required for this job, however, cleared (Secret level) candidates are preferred
