Job Description

Join the Platform and Architecture Integration and Validation team within the Data Platform Group. We seek experienced Engineers to join our team with a passion for excelling and learning and applying new skills.

As a System Validation Engineer, you will enable solutions for key Cloud Server Platform customers. You will develop and create state-of-the-art validation capabilities supporting the Data Products Group product portfolio. You will interact with Architecture, Design, Silicon Validation, and Product Management teams to analyze requirements, customer use cases, improve product test content, debug, and provide feedback for future system features. You will also support Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customers with feature validation plans.

The candidate will:

  • Plan, develop, and execute validation tasks such as defining test plans, reviewing coverage, developing test content, and driving test execution.

  • Collaborate with silicon-enabling, firmware development, and debug teams to troubleshoot and debug cross-discipline and complex integration issues on server platforms.

  • Deep dive and root cause system integration issues and drive sightings to closure with relevant stakeholders.

  • Participate in product planning and release meetings providing input and decisions.

  • Voice of the team to represent issues found in the lab at the related forums.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a positive factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed may be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.

Minimum Requirements:

The candidate must have a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fields.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in Systems validation and/or Platform validation experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in debug experience at platform level.

  • 3+ years of experience in Coded/Debugged/Troubleshooted firmware.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in one or more technical domains such as network RAS (reliability accessibility serviceability) virtualization, power management, peripheral interface (PCIe, CXL) and Memory.

  • Familiarity with BIOS.

  • Familiarity/Experience with Python, Jenkins, Windows Powershell/Linux Scripting.

  • Experience in x86 architecture.
