As an entry level System Safety Engineer for LM Space in its Littleton, CO facility you will have the opportunity to work in an exciting and dynamic team environment supporting the Orion Program. Working under close supervision you will be responsible for the following:

• Generating System Safety Engineering hazard analyses
• Ensuring hazard controls are flowed down to Product Performance Specifications and implemented/verified
• Ensuring System Safety Engineering oversight and participation in critical operations at various locations
• Coordinating with international partner agencies and contractors
• Participating in senior management safety review panels and independent customer review boards
• Balancing cost/schedule/technical/safety concerns to ensure mission success and crew safety

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, etc.).

Candidate must be a US citizen

Desired skills
• Technical ability to develop safety analytical skills necessary to assess system/subsystems, identify safety hazards and recommend safety requirements to system design and operations to mitigate safety risks.

• Ability to develop safety documents as required to support customer requirements.

• Proficient in the use of MS Office applications (example, Excel and PowerPoint)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Knowledge of engineering drawings, System Engineering and Reliability engineering e.g. requirements derivation/flowdown and failure modes and effects analyses
