Currently, we are hiring a System Concepts & Requirements Team Chief Engineer for The National Team in Huntsville, AL.

Job Summary:

As Chief Engineer for the Missile Defense Agencys (MDA) National Team Engineering (NT-E) System Concepts & Requirements (SC&R) Product Team (PT), you will perform System Engineering functions and lead technical requirements and architecture development activities to define, characterize, and develop Missile Defense System (MDS) capabilities.

Primarily, you will be responsible for product(s) technical integrity, continuity and robustness to include meeting program established first time quality goals. Your job scope includes being responsible for concentrated and continuous staff, process and requirements development tool(s) improvements.

The SC&R Product Team consists of the following development teams: Functional and Interface Requirements, Performance Requirements, Specialty Engineering, and Requirements Development Tools.

Additionally, as the SC&R Chief Engineer, you will provide technical oversight of the Teams engineering activities (vertically within the PT and horizontally across the program) that support integration of MDS capabilities and designs in the areas of Battle Management/Command & Control/Communication, sensor management, and Weapon Systems, focusing on the integrated system performance of the MDS. These activities drive efforts to define and coordinate new capabilities, through the development of design packages to support requirements and architecture development.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
The SC&R Chief Engineer will be required to interface with MDAs Directorate of Engineering (MDA/DE) and associated MDA Element Program Offices to facilitate design and content collaboration and understanding, resulting in technical concurrence, to include the review and resolution of technical disconnects and/or issues. Active participation and engagement in the National Team Technical Review Board (TRB) process is a must to ensure continued program, success.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Education: Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM); an advanced degree is highly desired
10+ years relevant professional experience
Technical leadership, utilizing systems engineering processes and implementations (e.g. MBE, MBSE, Digital Eng)
Architecture and requirements, development and analysis
System engineering databases / tools development (e.g., DOORS, System Architect, Cameo), and specification / requirements documentation (e.g., specifications and/or interface control documents)
Able to lead the collaboration and approval of system engineering products through various program and MDA engineering reviews and engineering milestone events (e.g., System Requirements Review)
A thorough and demonstrated understanding of the system engineering development process with associated product content expectations

An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance is required.

Qualifications We Value:

Self-starter; demonstrated ability to work within a large diverse engineering team construct addressing a wide range of complex technical problems.
Specific experience with one or more MDS elements (e.g., DE, DV, BC, GM and AB) and/or other complex weapon system development programs or capabilities
