We are looking for more great software engineering leaders who can help us push computing capabilities even further. You will be working in a dynamic team which develops and applies software tools and physical models to guide the development of semiconductor devices, circuits and the process technologies which make them. Our team in Computational and Modeling Technologies architects and develops state of the art Software / Computer-aided Design / Machine Learning solutions and establishes methodologies, flows and tools to advance design and manufacturability on the leading edge silicon processes.

You will be interacting with teams in multiple internal and external organizations including design, Electronic Design Automation (EDA) , process technology, manufacturing test and yield. You will be researching and developing innovative, full-stack solutions that utilize existing and emerging technologies. The work spans the complete solution life cycle, from early research to mature production, with high robustness and quality while creating new capabilities beyond the state of art in the industry or delivering critical new features through existing solutions. The position offers scope for technically leading teams and architecting solutions.

As a Software Modeling Research Scientist / Engineer your main job responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Design and implementation of solutions and capabilities by establishing methodologies, flows and tools

  • Modeling and quantification of impact of manufacturing and yield on design, manufacturing process, and manufacturing test.

  • Exploring and incorporating machine learning, statistical inferencing and data-science infrastructure and methods.

  • Statistical inferencing and predictive modeling solutions for learning from silicon data for design-technology co-optimization and to predict impact on new designs.

  • Design test structures, test-blocks and methods in test-chips for model validation and characterization.

  • Architect, prototype and productize full data intensive solutions to process large volumes of silicon manufacturing and design / test simulation data.

  • Implement methodologies and flows to leverage industry standard EDA tools around design, manufacturing, and test.

  • Develop and maintain code for collateral generation and regression testing.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork, classes, research and or relevant previous job and or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The candidate must possess a Master's Degree with 3+ years' experience or Ph.D. degree with 1+ years' experience in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, with strengths in software development.

-Candidate must have 2+ years of work or educational experience in the following:

  • Strong analytical skills especially in applying statistical analysis and data-science/machine learning methods.

  • C/C++/Python programming skills.

  • Software development skills with background in computer algorithms, data structure and data-base management/query.

  • Good background in VLSI Design and Testing.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scripting skills in TCL/PERL and Julia programming.

  • Experience with Synopsys design tools and Mentor-Siemens Tessent tools.

  • Experience in building machine learning powered applications and ML pipelines.

  • Designing data intensive applications.
