Whole Life Engineering (WLE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time. WLE consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Our WLE disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines: Reliability System Safety and Supportability.

Job Summary:

WLE seeks an experienced Sustainment Engineering Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for executing and leading tasks in the areas of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Sustainment Planning, Logistics Management, Training, and/or Technical Documentation.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Responsibilities may include the following:
  • Managing, reporting and consolidating various data points to track trends that help inform leadership of Sustainment activity
  • Presenting and participating in Program Reviews, external customer meetings and team status meetings
  • Leading the development of ILS strategies for various programs as they transition from development or production into sustainment
  • Utilizing analytical skillsets to review generated material, determine required subject matter expert inputs, and interpret engineering technical data
  • Ensuring costs are within budget and schedule
  • Fulfilling Statement of Work Requirements with baseline plan and recovery approaches
  • Generating and refining Scope of Work (SOW) to subcontractors
  • Preparing and submitting Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) as required
  • Assessing Risk and Opportunity analysis and management
  • Providing productivity and status input to Monthly Operating Reviews and Metric Collection

Domestic & International travel may be required (approximately 10% domestic and 5% international)

An advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience may be considered for this role.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor's degree. 8+ years of relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors degree. (Two years of related work experience can substitute for one year of college education).

Employment Experience
  • 10+ years relevant experience in engineering, documentation, operations, security, and/or logistics
  • Logistics experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. US citizenship is required as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:
  • Experience as an Integrated Product Team Lead
  • Manufacturing and/or Supply Chain processes and procedures
  • Experience in proposal processes to develop and review cost estimates/proposals packages
  • Experience in Earned Value fundamentals and project budgetary management experience
  • Experience with the Agile development process/environment
  • Experience building strong cross-functional organizational effectiveness, developing technical documentation and managing geographically dispersed organizations
  • Knowledge of product life cycle management
  • Experience with presentations and data analysis skills
  • Six Sigma Specialist (or other similar certification)
