Job Description

Substrate equipment sourcing (SES) organization as part of the assembly test supply chain group, contracts, and sources tens of billions of dollars on behalf of Intel Corporation. The scope of the organization covers a wide range of capital equipment sourcing, manufacturing, and ecosystem development in support of manufacturing both direct, indirect material including subcontract manufactured components. The organizations goal is to deliver Intels future through the worlds best, predictable, uninterrupted, cost-effective, and agile supply chain. The Substrate Equipment Sourcing (SES) group is commissioned to deliver differentiated (innovative, reliable, affordable, uninterrupted, and capable) equipment supply chain, engineering, performance, and services for Intel enabling the current and future generation of advanced packaging substrates.

Chemistry, Gas, and Materials supply chain Engineering Manager lead a team of individual contributors responsible for advanced substrate Chemistry/Gas/Materials supply chain solutions as it integrates successfully to enable our next generation, equipment, and processes. Focus includes organic, inorganic, composite materials systems, chemical solutions, and gases required to certify the substrate equipment and process technologies.

 The Supply Chain Engineering Manager will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Recruit, develop, and Manages the team to develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for new substrate chemistry, gas, and materials technologies.
  • Engage effectively with global ecosystem partners to develop and deploy materials and chemical solutions that meet our affordability, technology, and high-volume manufacturing targets.
  • Understand and enable Intel's advanced packaging road map through the supply chain development of work class materials/chemistry and gases ecosystem.
  • Define, develop and drive best sourcing/selection strategies and execution plans to meet or technology, manufacturing, Cost/Affordability goals, as well as Environmental Social Governance requirements.
  • Define and manage Supplier Optimization Strategies, Intellectual property management, and business continuity plans.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, sourcing, and equipment development teams to successfully integrate chemistry/gas/materials solutions and ensure HVM scalability/amp readiness. 

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:

  • Demonstrates technical depth, breadth, and leadership for driving, inventing, and developing new substrate materials and chemistry supply chain solutions.
  • Proven expertise in bringing industry-leading equipment technologies from concept to HVM deployment in a highly complex advanced technology environment.
  • Expert in using advanced structural problem solving and model-based root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Competency and proficiency with materials and chemistry development methodologies and experience providing leadership and driving internal stakeholders and equipment suppliers.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.  

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must possess at least one of the 2 following degrees plus the years of experience determined for each degree :

1. Master's degree in Materials, Chemical engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Organic Chemistry. With 10+ years of work experience.

2. Ph.D. degree in Materials, Chemical engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Organic Chemistry. With 7+ years of work experience.

 Preferred qualifications:

  • 10+ years of materials engineering, chemical engineering, or chemistry as it applies to the fields of semiconductor processes, semiconductor materials, and/or advanced packaging processes/materials developments.
  • Expertise in Supply Chain Engineering Management, ecosystem development.
  • Specific expertise in materials and chemistry ecosystem development toward high volume manufacturing and ramp readiness.
