SCE9A/$9,137 - $11,421 PER MONTH

1. Plan and direct electric transmission & distribution construction by designing and supervising facilities installations. Plan and direct electric transmission & distribution system improvements to eliminate system problems and minimize operating expenses.*

2. Perform structure analysis and design of pole, framed and guyed structures, and foundations. Perform analysis and design of conductors for sag, ground clearances, spacing, galloping, etc. *

3. Prepare material and construction specifications, design criteria and construction drawing Prepare material take-offs, scopes of work, and bid packages.*

4. Assist in the development of underground and overhead installation standards and evaluate new products. Prepare material take-offs, scopes of work, and bid packages. *

5. Maintain complete project documentation with respect to transmission and distribution line design and construction, including all completion packages, as-built requirements and return data information.*

6. Conduct distribution power flow analysis; perform fuse coordination; perform VAr analysis; and distribution automation system coordination.*

7. Review and approve all electrical T&D work orders to ensure accuracy. Furnish professional technical expertise and advice by providing special reports and assistance.*

8. Assist in implementing policies, assist in completing reports and studies, and complete other assigned duties with regard to federal, state and Southwest Power Pool system regulatory and utility matters.*

9. Responsible for compliance with applicable FERCINERC standards related to the transmission and distribution system. This includes but is not limited to the creation of new policies, procedures and supporting data and information demonstrating compliance to new standards. Updating policies, procedures and supporting data of existing standards. Provide testimony as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in NERC Audits for the applicable standards.*

Requirements

Physical Requirements: Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Minimal Educational/Professional Experience Requirements: This position requires the incumbent to have acquired a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program. The position holder should have seven (7) to ten (10) years of proven field experience in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of utility electrical distribution systems. A Professional Engineer (PE) registration is preferred. The Supervisor of Electrical T&D Engineering must possess ability to resolve highly complex technical issues and conduct advanced analytical research using expert judgement and with limited supervision. Successful candidate must possess a recognizable skill set that identifies one as a technical leader and resource.
