Build on your early childhood education skills in this new Substitute Teacher opening at Little Edisons School (LES)! If you are looking for an opportunity to provide quality early childhood education for our classrooms ranging from infant to school-age, while working a part-time schedule (~19 hours), then this position is for you!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Oversee the educational activities within the childcare classroom

2. Apply standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the childcare field

3. Establish and maintain supportive relationships with children and parents

4. Work cooperatively in a team atmosphere.

5. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

6. Continuously identify, measure, and improve childcare processes by participating in process improvement teams.

7. Understand. Create. Simplify.

8. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Eighteen years of age or older

High School Diploma or GED

1-2 years documented child care work related experience

Ability to communicate and work effectively as part of a team

Ability to work overtime, as required

Background check results satisfactory to SEL & DEL

Current Washington State Food Handlers Permit

Current HIV/AIDS and blood borne pathogen training

Negative Mantoux TB test result(s)

Current Infant, Child & Adult First Aid/CPR certified

Ability to meet MVR Qualification Standards of SEL

Meet STARS training requirement in the state of Washington and be listed in the State Training and Registry System

Current Child Abuse and Neglect Training

Current Safe Sleep Training

Valid Driver's License

Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications

1-2 years documented early childhood development education

Foreign Language Skills

Physical Requirements

Lift up to 50lbs frequently

Sit and/or stand for up to 8 hours
