Ensure all Federal/State/Local Department of Transportation requirements are met
Audit Area Operations and Corporate for compliance
Track vehicle accidents, and both driver and vehicle violations
Monitors fleet performance and fleet operational goals; prepare reports for management
Estimated 10% of the time is spent out of the office on region trainings, inspections and meetings
Key Qualifications
- At least 10 years managing motor vehicle fleet for transportation media production
- Must have a minimum 10 years' experience in Transportation Compliance Regulatory activities including managing Motor carrier Safety programs, have in-depth knowledge of the regulations, and providing technical hazardous material and waste transportation expertise via ground, water, air, and rail modes of transportation.
- Must have experience and be a subject matter expert with USDOT/FMCSA driver/vehicle roadside inspections, CVSA Out of Service Criteria and DataQ, and have been certified by USDOT/FMCSA.
- Must have prior experience and certification in weight and measurements of vehicles
- Must have had experience in method of instruction for presenting training
- Must have prior accident investigation experience
- Must have prior experience in writing policy and procedures for compliance with USDOT/FMCSA regulations
- Must have mechanical knowledge of vehicles/equipment
- Must be an experienced communicator; written and oral, with interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, etc.)
- Must have ability to work with Fleet, EH&S, and Production/Operations staff to provide appropriate DOT/CSA reports and communications to the regions and upper management
- Must be able to work independently for long periods without direct supervision and be able to keep supervisors informed of current status and progress
- Will be expected to attend national and regional meetings, trainings and seminars to stay current on changing laws and regulations related to DOT/CSA
- Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret regulations and other documents.
- Must have be proficient with Microsoft Office; US DOT web based DataQ System; AI Volpe/CSA site; Safer; and the US DOT Portal
DescriptionThe Transportation Manager is also known as the DOT Compliance Manager, and is responsible to give guidance to Operations on the safe operation of Apple Studios Motor Carrier. The position scope is global, requiring proficient knowledge of U.S., State, and Local DOT regulations with a strong emphasis on the State of California Regulations. Job tasks include monitoring motor carrier compliance rating, developing and administrating corporate policies, auditing compliance factors, and training.
