Job Description

Georgia Tech Research Institute's Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory (SEAL) is currently seeking students to join our Sensor Systems Engineering Division. Students will assist Research Engineers in various hardware engineering tasks. Students should be interested in learning about RF, Electromagnetics, Analog and Digital design, and testing.

Due to the nature of the work at GTRI, job duties will depend upon contract and sponsor needs. Students could participate in the following projects/tasks:

  • Testing and characterization of RF, Analog, and Digital components and systems
  • Developing and executing automated test scripts in NI LabVIEW
  • Analyzing measured test data
  • Assembling and wiring custom modules and chassis
  • Generating schematics and PCB layout
  • Writing and simulating VHDL code
  • Developing C/C++ code

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Must be registered for co-op credit with your university
  • Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with various lab instrumentation including: Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, Oscilloscope, or Multimeter
  • Familiarity with the following software: NI LabVIEW, Altium, Keysight ADS, MATLAB, SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of Analog and Digital circuit design & analysis, RF Engineering, and Electromagnetics
  • Knowledge of PCB schematic capture, layout, and fabrication process
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Familiarity with office applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to quickly learn new software applications and tools

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance upon hire
