Job Description

Intel's Sort/Test Technology Development Group STTD is an exciting place to work driving world-class innovations in manufacturing and process control. This is an entry level position within the Module Infrastructure and System Development team within STTD.

As an engineer in the System Development team, the candidate would be expected to understand and develop solutions to improve the sort test module software, test equipment applications, operation systems, and infrastructure capability to enhance the quality, reliability, and manufacturability across the wide range of sort test hardware in STTD. In addition, the candidate would be expected to work with module engineering, integration, and product development teams to optimize the sort process for release to high-volume manufacturing.

The candidate's responsibilities could include:

- Partner with internal and external vendors to develop sort test hardware and software capability.
- Develop, test, and deploy new module software and test solutions.
- Resolve module design and implementation issues.
- Own and qualify new module capability for transfer to high volume manufacturing.
- Provide training and documentation for new capability.
- Plan and conduct experiments to qualify sort test module/process capabilities.
- Develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge, and problem-solving skills.

This is an entry level position and compensation will be given accordingly.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Knowledge and/or experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences .

Minimum qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a Master's degree with 6+ months of experience in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering and/or science discipline.

Must have the required degree or expect the required degree by December 2021. 

  • 6+ months of experience with software testing and troubleshooting.

Preferred qualifications:

6+ months of experience in the following:

  • Experience/knowledge in design of experiments and statistical analysis and software, such as R, Matlab, JMP or Statistical.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Python, SQL, and scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with the Windows operating system.
