As a Storage Device Engineer you will join a team delivering world class server products to thousands of customers across the globe.

This position is for a motivated storage device engineer as part of the System Ingredients Enabling Debug (SIED) team to work on cutting-edge storage system engineering and debug, with focus on system issues related to BIOS, chipset, CPU and I/O interconnect. We need someone comfortable working hands-on in a lab environment and communicating with external and internal partners, with an ability to characterize and deep-dive into errors, provide status updates and work with the teams that own the
failing components to resolve those issues.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Perform development and debug work on new storage devices.

  • Perform debug and testing of production drives .

  • Support NVMe, SAS and SATA interfaces.

  • Liaison to the Platform/Product Development Team that will use the new PSU.

  • Liaison to the power supply vendor for technical/engineering topics.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a positive factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed may be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.

Minimum Requirements:

The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.

Minimum Qualifications:

3+ years of experience with:

  • Familiarity with SATA, SAS, NVMe, LAN (Ethernet), RAID and/or other storage I/O technologies from an add-in adapter and/or Operating System (OS)/driver debug perspective.

  • Platform level debug skills capable of analyzing complex system-level configurations and isolating specific failures.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in installing and configuring server operating systems, including Microsoft Windows and Linux.

  • Experience using low-level debug tools, including protocol analyzer, and ITP/XTP.

  • Utilize OS kernel debugger to root cause OS and platform issues is a plus.

  • Experience with a scripting and/or programming language.
