About the team:

Youll be part of Advanced Design (AD) within Design Enablement organization (DE). The team works in close collaboration with our partners in process technology and design teams spanning CPU, Graphics, Networking, and Servers. The primary focus of the team is to accurately predict the impact of process changes on density scaling and power, performance metrics through Test Chips. Test chips are based on both Intel IP and external industry standard IP.

About the role:

As a Standard Cell Architecture Engineer in the Standard Cell Development team, your responsibilities may include:

  • Standard cell library content definition and circuit implementation
  • Circuit design and layout optimization for performance and EM/electrical robustness
  • Standard cell modeling and characterization

You must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of work experience OR PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, with academic experience.

Experience in the following areas:

  • Standard cell design and development
  • EDA tool/flow/methodology
  • Digital design including CMOS


3+ years of industry experience in the following areas:

  • DTCO
  • VLSI design
  • PDK development
  • Familiar with foundry ecosystem and benchmarking practice
  • Familiar with design rules, standard cell modeling, extraction, and characterization
