Job Description

This position is associated with the sale of Intels NAND memory and storagebusiness to SK hynix (You can read more about the transaction in the press release - https://newsroom.intel.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/11/2020/10/nand-memory-news-q-a.pdf). The transaction will enhance the resources and potential of the business storage solutions, including client and enterprise SSDs, in the rapidly growing NAND Flash space amid the era of big data.  

This is an exciting time to be at Intel come join our team as a SSD Product Engineer and work on one of the most advanced 3DNAND and SSD technology portfolios in the world. As the global leader in the semiconductor industry, Intel possesses many industry-leading SSD technologies including the most capable Quadruple Level Cell (QLC) NAND Flash products. As a SSD Product Engineer, you will be part of a world-class team that will transition to lead the SSD business at SK hynix.  

Candidates being hired for Phase 1 

This position aligns to Phase 1 of the transaction, which includes the 3DNAND enterprise and client SSD business. Phase 1 is expected to close in late 2021, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions. At deal close, all employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition to SK hynix. 

As a SSD Product Engineer you will be responsible, but not limited to:

  • Ensuring the testability and manufacturability of integrated circuits from the component feasibility stage through production ramp.
  • Make significant contributions to design, development and validation of testability circuits.
  • Evaluation, development and debug of complex test methods.
  • Develops and debugs complex software programs to convert design validation vectors and drive complex test equipment.
  • Creates and tests validation and production test hardware solutions.
  • Tests, validates, modifies and redesigns circuits to guarantee component margin to specification.
  • Analyzes and evaluates component specification versus performance to ensure optimal match of component requirements with production equipment capability with specific emphasis on yield analysis and bin split capability.
  • Analyzes early customer returns with emphasis on driving test hole closure activities.
  • Creates and applies concepts for optimizing component production relative to both quality and cost constraints.
  • Autonomously plans and schedules own daily tasks, develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Requirements

The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
3+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • SSD, Memory and Storage technology
  • Interface protocols like PCIe, NVMe, SATA
  • Computer hardware and software operating systems application and drivers

The selected candidate must start before October, 2021.


Preferred Requirements
3+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • Software development, programing (C, C++ or Python)
  • Storage power and performance benchmarks

Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field is a plus.
