This position is associated with the sale of Intel's NAND memory and storage business to SK Hynix. The transaction will enhance the resources and potential of the business' storage solutions, including client and enterprise SSDs, in the rapidly growing NAND Flash space amid the era of big data. As the global leader in the semiconductor industry, Intel possesses many industry-leading SSD technologies including the most capable Quadruple Level Cell (QLC) NAND Flash products. As a Customer Quality and Reliability Engineer, you will be part of a world-class team that will transition to lead the SSD business at SK Hynix. Candidates being hired for Phase 1. This position aligns to Phase 1 of the transaction, which includes the 3DNAND enterprise and client SSD business. Phase 1 is expected to close in late 2021, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions. At deal close, all employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition to SK Hynix. This position in our SSD Customer Quality and Reliability team which is responsible for our customers overall quality experience. This team supports customers worldwide and its primary locations are Folsom, CA and Shanghai, China. As a customer failure analysis engineer in this team, you will be responsibilities include: (1) Failure analysis and issue closure for SSDs returned to Intel by customers. (2) Proliferation of shared learning across our worldwide team. (3) Customer support in terms of both written reports and customer engagements to explain our findings. (4) Continuous Improvement projects that enhance our capabilities and improve our customer's quality experience with our products.The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following behavioral traits: (1) Analytical and problem-solving skills (2) Communication and interpersonal skills to understand and communicate complex concepts to both our internal partners and our customers (3) Working effectively both independently and in a team environment.


Minimum Qualifications: (1) Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline (2) Experience in programming/scripting languages (eg. Python, C) (3) Hands on experience with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, power supplies and soldering equipment (4) Familiar with computer architecture for either datacenter and/or client applications. Preferred Qualifications: (1) 2 years of experience in debugging failures of a system in which the failure could be either hardware or software/firmware related. (2) Previous work experience with storage devices (SSD or HDD) or memory (DRAM). (3) Previous work experience being the customer interface as it relates to issue resolution or quality inquiries.
