The transaction will enhance the resources and potential of the business storage solutions, including client and enterprise Intel NAND Solid State Drive (Intel NAND SSD), in the rapidly growing NAND Flash space amid the era of big data.

As a SSD Customer Validation Lead, you will be part of a world-class team that will transition to lead the SSD business at SK hynix.  

Candidates being hired for Phase 1 

This position aligns to Phase 1 of the transaction, which includes the Intel 3D NAND SSD enterprise and client SSD business. Phase 1 is expected to close in late 2021, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions. At deal close, all employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition to SK hynix. 

As an SSD Customer Validation Lead you will:

  • Demonstrate leadership in owning SSD Product Validation Programs and delivering to commits on execution milestones.
  • Understand requirements, environment and use cases of the Intel's datacenter NAND SSD customers and translate those into a robust validation strategy.
  • Define comprehensive test scenarios and execute the validation strategy to qualify Intel SSDs across various datacenter customer platforms.
  • Develop automated test cases within a Python framework to execute on data-center servers with PCIe SSDs and debug system-level firmware validation and platform/SW interoperability failures.
  • Understand customers' infrastructure and SW stack and use that knowledge to plan, procure, build and maintain datacenter server systems internally for SSD validation.
  • Execute test cases and review logs to determine pass/fail conditions and 1st step debug/triage.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as Product Engineering, Firmware Development, Manufacturing, and other validation Teams to resolve bugs and drive improvements to product quality.
  • Work with product marketing team and internal stakeholders to roll up status updates and effectively communicate with the customers about product health, validation status and issue resolution.
  • Communicate and feed learnings from customer discovery to internal stakeholders to drive customer focus into product development.
  • Drive improved validation methodologies, documentation, and automated testing within the team.

This job requires a team player with good technical, planning, and communication skills who is motivated to deliver quality test results in a timely manner.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
The candidate must have a BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in experience in firmware/software/embedded systems development, validation, and/or Debug
3+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • Protocol (NVMe/PCIe/SATA/SAS/etc)
  • Software development (Python, C, C++, PERL, JAVA, etc) with object oriented programming
  • Server or client platforms and operating systems or other embedded systems/computing platforms


Preferred Requirements
3+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • Leading teams in planning and executing development or validation projects, including risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Supporting customers, specifically around requirements analysis, product adoption, validation and issue resolution.
  • Development and debug in both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Hands-on experience in setup, configuration and debug of datacenter server platforms, OS, software stack and/or cloud infrastructure.
  • Rolling up status updates to senior management and product managers and influencing skills to remove roadblocks to deliver commitments.
  • ATA, SATA, SAS, PCIe, and/or NVMe protocol and debug, including knowledge of relevant debug tools protocol analyzers, scopes, logic analyzers.
  • Development for and/or use of storage devices such as HDD, SSD, SAN, and/or NAS.
  • NAND memory fundamentals.
  • Validation or QA experience.
