The Apple Media Products Engineering team is one of the most exciting examples of Apple's long-held passion for combining art and technology. These are the people who power the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books. These engineers build secure, end-to-end solutions. They develop the custom software used to process all the creative work, the tools that providers use to deliver that media, all the server-side systems, and the APIs for many Apple services.

Key Qualifications

  • Track record of building and managing high-performance SRE teams
  • Experience with distributed systems in a production operations environment
  • Advanced experience with programming languages (GoLang, Python, Java, C++)
  • Experience building and managing mission critical systems on top of modern cloud services
  • Deep systems and infrastructure knowledge
  • Track record of improving service reliability and efficiency
  • Experience with SRE goals, processes, and culture
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across multiple business and technical teams
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results on time with high quality

Description

You will manage a team of Service Reliability Engineers located locally and abroad while still providing direct, on-keyboard impact. You and your team will build, operate, and continuously improve the Apple services that our many millions of customers enjoy - AppStore, iTunes Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
- Building software and systems to manage infrastructure and customer-facing applications through automation
- Partnering closely with development teams to design, build, deploy, support, and monitor new and existing Apple services
- Measuring and optimizing service performance and availability
- Capacity planning and management
- Exploring and evaluating new technologies and solutions to push our capabilities forward

Education & Experience

BS/MS in Computer Science or Equivalent
