Responsible for the execution of the AEGIS Weapon System (AWS) Test Program during AEGIS Modernization (A-MOD), aboard AEGIS CRUISERS and DESTROYERS at the AMT-E in Norfolk, VA. Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment in support of the Test Program. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special systems. Compiles data and defines changes as required in testing equipment, testing procedures, or new testing requirements. Additional duties include the following:

• Ensure effective and efficient completion of the Navy’s ESRA Test Program
• Daily execution of AWS/ACS tests shipboard
• Attend daily Group status meetings as directed
• Reports progress and problems as identified at scheduled Group meetings
• Draft reports, presentations and briefings as directed by leadership
• Participate in the planning and execution of computer program installs
• Participate in the development of Initial light-off requirements
• Complete all test reports as required
• Responsible for familiarizing the ship crew member for their sea trial operational events
• Support Operational Demonstration and live firing crew rehearsals
• Daily interface with Ship's Force

Basic Qualifications
Experience in the operation and testing of US Navy Combat Systems equipment; AEGIS Weapon Test Operations Experience associated with Baseline 3-9 and or CIC Operations experience a plus. Ability to work in a multi-corporate team environment under only general direction and have proven experience working in a dynamic work environment that requires change on extremely short notice. Proven work experience finding solutions to challenging issues while under pressure. Must have complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field; general knowledge of other related disciplines. Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts requiring excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have a Final Secret security clearance prior to start. 25-35% travel will be required and can be expected in support of AEGIS Modernization availabilities conducted at locations outside Norfolk

Desired skills
Proven ability to work with associated contractors, Navy crewmembers and other government personnel. Prior NAVY at sea and CIC test operations aboard AEGIS CG and DDG. Operational experience with Data link 11, and 16, CEC, VLS, Air Control, AAW, C4I, ASW, and ASUW. BMD experience a plus
