The Hardware Integration Center (HWIC) in Andover, MA is an advanced manufacturing area for final integration and test for major end items (MEIs) such as PATRIOT BMC4I shelters and radars, and multiple array products including QEWRs, AMDRs (SPY-6), EASRs (SPY-6), THAADs (TPY-2), and LTAMDS. An opportunity currently exists for a first shift RF Test Technical Support Engineer to join the HWIC Test Engineering team that is part of RMD Operations Engineering. In this position, the selected candidate will be part of a multi-disciplined test team to test PATRIOT and/or array products at system level, and their primary responsibilities include supporting test, troubleshooting to isolate faults including but not limited to RF, IF, digital, and analog, and effective collaboration with business and engineering partners within and outside of HWIC. The candidate should have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of RF/Microwave electronics and respective test equipment and adequate mechanical capability, at a minimum, to recognize mechanical faults in the hardware under test.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Supporting final manufacturing test of Major End Items at multiple levels and platforms
  • Interpreting test requirements and documenting test procedures
  • Analyzing data to drive issues to root cause
  • Generating Change Requests (CRs) on technical issues relating to the production test processes
  • Developing and executing improvement projects to increase first pass yields
  • Engagement with Design and Test Development teams to solve issues impacting production
  • Ensuring hardware requirements are met and build and test processes are followed
  • Assisting manufacturing operators in the testing and troubleshooting faults in production hardware under test
  • Working with minimal direction, being able to determine and pursue courses of actions to achieve desired results
  • Ability to travel as required
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or additional 2 years of related experience may be substituted for each 1 year of college.
  • 5+ years of test and/or troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with the fundamentals of RF signal characteristics and respective tests (s-parameters, noise figures, propagation, attenuation, insertion losses, etc.)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Value:
  • Preferred majors include Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Intermediate or advanced knowledge, experience and skills in radar system test and fault isolations.
  • Willing to learn and work flexibly and extended hours if needed
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering with focus on RF
  • RF, analog, and/or digital test/troubleshoot skills
  • Software skills including MATLAB, LabView
  • A continuous improvement mindset to enhance manufacturing test methods through process modernization
  • Sound understanding of statistical analysis techniques
  • Demonstrated success working in a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • RF, analog and/or digital test at system level and experience with RF test equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and power meters/sensors.
  • Problem solving techniques both independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective communication skills in both verbal and written forms.
  • Able to adapt and effectively work in a multi-disciplined engineering and manufacturing work environment and to be a reliable, accountable team player.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools such as Word and Excel.
  • RF, analog and/or digital test at system level and experience with RF test equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and power meters/sensors.
  • Problem solving techniques both independently and collaboratively.
