The Growth Marketing Operations Team plays a key role in enabling on-device communications and automated messaging for Apple's media products and services. The team focuses on the timely delivery, strategy, and execution of in-app messaging sent to millions of users across multiple Apple services, including: Apple TV+, Music, Arcade, App Store, and Apple One.

We're looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager that will support our Machine Learning (ML) Growth initiatives and work at the intersection of marketing, data science, engineering, and operations. You will help manage and drive the delivery of ML models within automated customer journeys that are focused on acquisition, engagement, and retention. This person will play a critical role in bringing together global cross-functional teams and ensure timely and accurate execution. Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years working directly with Engineering, Product, and/or Data teams. Preferred experience leading projects that involve ML integration into automated marketing messaging and/or consumer-facing applications.
  • 5+ years working as a Program Manager with demonstrated expertise in defining projects, collecting requirements, writing detailed functional and test specifications, coordinating efforts to scope, schedule and deploy new features sets
  • Experience managing large cross-functional team projects that require a deep understanding of technical design, back-end architecture, and data pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of Growth Marketing initiatives and consumer behavior. Preferred expertise in the areas of mobile on-device messaging.
  • Knowledgeable about Machine Learning and Data Science. Working knowledge of propensity models, A/B testing, Bayesian statistics, personalization, and/or reinforcement learning preferred.
  • Strong project management skills. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and drive release schedules.
  • Excellent technical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C++, Java, and Python a plus.

Description

Own and drive execution for ML model integration into customer journeys. Develop a deep technical understanding of the underlying technology, data, models, and architecture.
Engage with Engineering, Data Science, and Growth Marketing teams to formally define scope and deliverables for new initiatives. Lead regular meetings to track progress, identify issues, and develop solutions.
Partner closely with Marketers to define requirements that translate Growth Marketing use-cases into detailed technical documentation. Identify project goals, deliverables, user flows, attribution instrumentation, reporting milestones and UAT/QA criteria.
Own and define processes to prioritize and schedule work. Partner closely with Engineering and Growth Project Managers to conduct impact assessments and understand trade-offs.
Find areas of opportunities for process improvement. Help troubleshoot problems through creative problem solving and deductive reasoning
Communicate regularly to all levels of management on projects status, risks, and delivery time. Clarify and drive project commitment by establishing a clear chain of accountability.
Help drive execution of projects from end to end. Partner closely with multiple teams to ensure alignment of deliverables and acceptance criteria.
Find opportunities to innovate while considering efficiency, impact, UX, and privacy. Have deep understanding of how projects affect the Apple ecosystem and marketing goals.

Education & Experience

B.A./M.S. or advanced degree in a technical or related discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, EE, Project Management etc. B.A./M.S.
